About Us

The South Windsor Community Foundation, Inc. seeks to improve the quality of life in South Windsor for all residents of all ages by furthering the development of community-based programs and projects.

Our History

The South Windsor Community Foundation, Inc. was founded by a dedicated group of prominent leaders in South Windsor who saw a need for a locally owned and controlled community foundation.

The Founders started the Foundation in November 2003 and became an official 501(c)(3) organization June 2004. The South Windsor Community Foundation, Inc. is excited about connecting with our community and offering a full line of service to civic and non-profit organizations.

The purpose of the South Windsor Community Foundation, Inc. is to operate exclusively for educational and charitable purposes and make distribution to organizations that qualify as exempt under Section 501(c)(3).

Our sources of financial support are donations from individuals and the business community, endowments-estates, fundraisers conducted in the community, contributions from civic organizations, grants from corporations, grants from other foundations, public funding/municipal grants.

The Foundation seeks to work with social services, education, arts, recreation and other community organizations. We endeavor to serve the entire community and be a central vehicle for financial contributions to our local community here in South Windsor.
